REFLECTION

Experience:
Throughout this whole first semester in Typography, I find it very intriguing at first as I did not know what to expect at first. After going the module information I had a better idea of what is going to happen throughout this module. I did not know about the e-portfolio as it is my first time here and I find it very useful to keep record of all my work. The assignments were time consuming and needed time to make the final look nice and get approved before heading the next step. Ms. Vitiyaa was helpful through 14 weeks of this module, as she helped me check my work to approve it. This module has taught me the design principles and understand more about typography in detail. Overall, I enjoyed learning typography as I learnt many things throughout the 14 weeks. 

Observation:
In order to approach any idea for the assignments, I needed to look for inspiration on Pinterest so I know what I'm looking for, for my own design. Without having a reference, I wouldn't be able to come up with decent ideas. I look out for the design principles that were taught in class to test my own knowledge and it does help a little, so I could always apply it to my own work. I also observed my classmates work on certain tasks given, to see their approach on ideas. This has also helped my in boosting my ideas. 

Findings:
I have learned a lot more about typography and the fundamentals of it like the fonts and typefaces and how important it is to take care of them. By experimenting a lot with different fonts has helped me learn that typography can the visually aesthetic and functional if used correctly. I also learned that, it's important to take care of the spacing between letters as it can affect the overall look of an task. I am grateful to have this opportunity to learn a lot of about typography and looking forward to go in depth for a better understanding.
